Meet Catherine
Being a Mother is undeniably the greatest privilege of my life. However, the journey to reach this point was more complex and far tougher than I had ever imagined. I was in no way prepared for the challenges I faced along the way. Ultimately, this experience changed my life and shaped me into the person I am today. Every day, I thank my lucky stars that my daughter is here.
As soon as she was born, I felt an overwhelming desire to hold on to all the precious memories and moments that we shared and I wanted to celebrate my motherhood, with all of its magical beauty, raw emotion, and strength. Being an incredibly sentimental person and a fine jewellery designer, I feel that the jewellery we wear is a perfect way to tell a story and remind us of the journeys we take. I believe that it’s these special pieces that have an almost talismanic sentiment and are at their most powerful when the underlying meaning holds emotion and connection to us.
Without a doubt, it was this that sparked the creation of Faith Mother. I wanted to create a fine jewellery brand specifically for Mothers and those who mother. A way to help celebrate their journey through Motherhood and to hold their most cherished memories close. From the beginning, I knew the aesthetic I wanted to create; exceptional jewellery made from the finest materials that will last a lifetime – solid gold, diamonds, precious gemstones and rich glossy enamel – that capture a mix of sentimentality, timeless design, and a free-spirited playfulness. It was important to me that each piece was authentic and unique, and could be personalised to the wearer, a way for their own story to be told. Above all, a celebration of the most beautiful connection between Mother and child.
The name Faith Mother is in celebration of my Daughter’s middle name and of three brilliant women who have come before me, my Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother – all Faith. And in a wider sense the word ‘faith’ is so important to me. After all, having faith in yourself and truly believing in yourself is among life’s greatest gifts. Sometimes we simply need to remind ourselves that this faith already exists within us – an expression of hope that transcends conscious thought. A kind of talisman of the heart.
