Ethics and Sustainability

At Faith Mother we not only uphold the highest standards in fine jewellery production. But we also believe that Mother Earth and those who inhabit her are deserving of our utmost care and respect. We responsibly source gemstones, use recycled gold, keep our production within the UK, and opt for sustainable packaging whenever possible. However, our commitment doesn’t end there.  We continuously consider our impact, implement change where possible and constantly strive to do things better.

Recycled gold

Our dedication to ethics and sustainability and to protect and preserve both our people and our planet motivates us to prioritise the use of recycled gold whenever possible. It is undeniable that mining for new gold exacts a significant toll on the environment, and causes disturbances to the earth, water and soil contamination, and a decrease in biodiversity to name a few. Therefore, choosing gold responsibly, is not just important, but imperative.

At Faith Mother, we make all our charms from 100% recycled gold. And because it is possible to refine gold back into its pure element through recycling, it will retain its quality. What’s more, this is true, even after multiple recycling processes. So, you can be confident that there is no compromise and that we haven’t caused additional harm to create your precious jewellery.

Conflict-free precious stones

Our commitment to source diamonds and precious stones responsibly is of paramount importance. We personally oversee the sourcing of all our gemstones through trusted suppliers. Each one sharing our commitment to ensure each stone has travelled through a conflict-free and responsible supply chain. Additionally, we collaborate with suppliers who source gemstones from artisanal mines. This helps ensure the mining practices prioritise small-scale operations and uphold environmental preservation and fair treatment of workers. We source our diamonds through a network of respected suppliers. It is a requirement that these suppliers adhere to the Kimberley Process (KP) and comply with United Nations Resolutions and corresponding UK law.

We continually assess ways we can do more and are always looking for new sources who can offer better transparency. But our commitment to ethics and sustainability means that you can trust that your beautiful stones have travelled through a responsible supply chain before making their way into your jewellery.

Packaging

Your Faith Mother jewellery will arrive in a signature Faith Mother gift box, and finished with our signature wrapping paper and a grosgrain bow. Our beautiful gift boxes are designed to be kept as a perfect place to store your treasured jewellery when you’re not wearing it.

To help reduce our carbon footprint, we utilise recycled and biodegradable materials in our packaging whenever possible. The inner structure of our boxes is crafted from recycled leftover material which is processed into a new form. And the cardboard outers are easily recyclable.
